Sophomore Indoor Track Season Recap

Writer's picture: edithnobleedithnoble

Somehow, winter quarter is almost over and with it, indoor track! This indoor track season was, as usual, challenging, fun and inspirational. I achieved some goals and didn't achieve others, and also had a lot of fun training alongside my badass teammates. Some highlights were:

  • Set a 3k PR of 10:28

  • Got 3rd in the conference 5k in 18:08 (1 second off of my lifetime best)

  • Got 2nd in the conference 3k in 10:35 (epic double on my part)

  • Ran some of my fastest ever times in training

  • Spent a ridiculous amount of time in Gainesville, FL

  • My youngest brother Reu got to watch me race in person!

Indoors is an odd season that's always quick and you can't quite tell how important it is compared to outdoors, but this season I learned a lot. I'm still working on debunking that silly idea in my head that my happiness and self worth needs to be tied to my performances, and that having fun while running is actually incredibly important. I can feel myself growing in real time and I'm so thankful for this season and excited for outdoor track soon!! Go Bees. 🐝💕
