Hi everyone! I hope you're having a lovely weekend! This week's video and blog post are all about my family's trip a few weeks ago to Washington, DC with my friends from school that came over at the end of the school year. It was a super hot day, but we made the best of it at the National Zoo and exploring the National Mall, which both turned out to be great.
First up we hit the National Zoo on the outskirts of the main part of the city, and it was super cool. It's funny how at first I was taking pictures of every glimmer of an animal that I saw, but by the end we had seen such cool stuff that the beginning wasn't as impressive. My favorites were definitely seeing the river otters, seals, tiger, and elephant! The zoo was pretty busy but not too crowded so that we could walk around a lot and have a good time.
After that we went to the National Mall, which I've been to once before, but it was just as impressive this time. The last time we walked around the Mall was in November when it was really chilly and brown, so it was lovely to see the greenery and enjoy the fountains more. We were all so hot from the walking in 95 degree sun that we actually waded in the WWII Memorial's fountain with lots of other visitors, which was super fun and cooling.
We also had the opportunity to meet up with a friend of ours from school named Louisa, since she and her dad were visiting DC just like us, before they headed back home to Germany, so it was so cool to meet her there, even though we had seen each other only a day earlier, haha.
Overall I would say the day was a great success and so much fun, especially for my international friends! Be sure to check out the video and enjoy!!
