Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend!! This week's video and photo gallery are of my family's recent trip to Fallingwater in Mill Run, PA. Fallingwater is a very famous house designed by the famous American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and its history is so cool! The house was built in 1936-38 and the Kaufman family lived in it for 2 decades until their son took over after their passing, and later gifted it so it could be toured. I found the historical context of the house to be so fascinating, because of how it was built while the Great Depression was still going on, and yet the architectural trends that it contains didn't become mainstream until the 70s.
We had the opportunity to tour the house and grounds to celebrate my dad's recent birthday, and it turned out to be so much fun and so cool to see. Surprisingly, for the first time since the house opened to the public, photography is allowed on the first floor starting on May 1st. This made for a very special experience, so the photos you see below are really some of the first to be publicly released! Be sure to check out the vlog and enjoy!!
